If you live in New York, Washington DC, San Fran, Chicago, Atlanta, LA, Seattle, San Diego or basically any major city in the US, then you must download this app immediately! Uber is THE app for hailing a cab in any city. But it’s more than a cab… It’s a PRIVATE car!! Uber connects with private sedan and SUV drivers in your area to get you a quick, clean and reliable ride.
Download the app, set up your payment information then Uber will use GPS to find you and the closest driver. After you request a driver you will receive a text message with the drivers information and estimated arrival. You can watch to see if your driver is on the way or stuck in traffic on the map too! When your driver arrives another message is sent to notify you. Super handy if you would rather stay inside and out of the elements (cold/rain/snow/heat). Need to pick up a friend on the way? No problem! Unlike a cab Uber wont charge you different fees for extra pick ups and drop offs. Uber’s rates are higher than a typical cab but the convenience, cleanliness and lack of B.O. smell make up for it.
While in Chicago for Lollapalooza, Uber saved us from the giant taxi-line. Within 15 minutes we had a Suburban pick us up and drop us off at our various destinations. The price was steep, but we got where we were going fast and didn’t have to wait around.
Word on the street is Uber has secretly launched in Denver too!!!

A few of my fav’s
Back in May, a few girlfriends decide to book a trip to Chicago for Lollapalooza. Having just moved away from DC and missing them dearly I decided to join – and book a 6am flight the morning after MMJ at Red Rocks (yeah…) but I made it and we had a blast! Unfortunately, the bad weather Saturday afternoon forced the festival to be evacuated. Fortunately we found safe haven in Legend’s Blues Bar. The storm forced most performances to be moved or bumped from the line-up altogether – Alabama Shakes 🙁 . So, I only got to see Calvin Harris and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Luckily, Sunday was beautiful and we spent the day exploring the city, spotting d-listed celebrities (see: Ryan Crabrera) and even went to the beach! Yes, it’s a lake, Lake Michigan, not an ocean… but a beach is a beach and it was awesome. Bellow are a few pics and videos of the trip!
