Tapestry+ Tarp= Tarpestry!
While fulfilling my shopping fix at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, I came across the Tarpestry Tent. Genius! A beautiful Tarpestry and a sturdy waterproof tarp all rolled into one, a Tarpestry! Immediately, I had to have one. Truth be told, we didn’t have a tarp, instead we had been using a tapesty that typically hangs in my house. No more soggy bottoms and trying to clean grass stains out of a thin blue sheet. After picking out my favorite design, I threw my credit card down and returned to our spot in the field to show off my new purchase. Everyone in our crew loved it! We used the Tarpestry all weekend, it also served as a great landmark in a sea of blue and gray tarps.
Forget that dirty blanket and ugly blue tarp, because you can get functionality and design with a Tarpestry. Perfect for music festivals, outdoor events, a day in the park, or just sun bathing in your own backyard. The Tarpestry is easy to clean (just hose it down), easy to carry (buy accessories like a carrying rope or bungee cord) and it includes holes to stakes down on those windy days. Not only a smart purchase for yourself but a great gift for that concertgoer on your list!
Since buying my Tarpestry 2 years ago I have used it relentlessly! Perfect for a day in Wash Park, as my tarp for camping, music festivals and just hanging in the back yard! Seriously worth every penny!

Backing up your computer is the single most important thing you can do ever.
If you are just starting or maybe just remembered that your last backup was over 2 years ago… relax! There are new and improved ways of backing up your pictures, music, financial statements and even that college thesis paper. Gone are the days of spending hours burning and labeling C.D’s – while still a good idea – there are much quicker, less time-consuming ways of saving all of your important data.
- Burn CDs- backup monthly
- Buy an external backup monthly
- Buy an external that wirelessly backs up for you.
Option 3- “backs up for you” that sounds easy! Unless your house burns or floods, then that external is toast.
Drum Roll Please…
Option 4: Cloud Storage! (learn how cloud storage works)
Cloud storage is the easiest, quickest and most reliable way to back up your computer. First, pick the program that you fits your size and price range (Find options here). Dowland the program, begin your back up and voila! Every time your computer is connected to the internet, the program will seamlessly sync your data to the cloud.
Of course, the initial back up will take some time, but from then on out, only new or updated data will be backed up. These program run in the ‘background’ and should not slow your computer. They also include the option to back up everything or only the things that are truly important. If your computer crashes or is stolen, breathe a sigh of relief because you can restore everything from the cloud to your new computer. I highly recommend this method and believe it is totally worth every penny.
I have been using Carbonite for over 3 years and have had no problems. I recently tried “Option 3” and purchased Mac’s Time Capsule, but the backups were long, slow and well, annoying to deal with. With Carbonite I can log in to my account online, check on my backups, see that my newest batch of photos has uploaded and rest assured that everything is there.
*If you still love having a physical external, get one. Just be on the safe side and also purchase a fire resistant safe- like these.
Good Luck and feel free to ask me any questions! I will try my best to answer!
I finally have my Facebook page up and running! Still a little weak… but Hey-it’s a start!

Oh My God Shoes
I wore Birkenstocks for the majority of my life. Then my mom asked a friend to take me shopping and find some more suitable shoes for a 16-year-old. I found Rainbows. For about 75% of the year they were on my feet every day. Untill I entered the real world where I had to wear “closed toe” shoes. Alas, I still get away with wearing sandals at work and slip into my Rainbows as soon as I get home.
But I do have to say, I love some heels… “heels” as in wedges. I know some of you think Wedges and heels are totally different things but to me they are the same. On the rare chance you catch me in “heels”, I am usually holding on to a banister, the stranger next to me or a wall for support. So I stick to my wedges. Here are some of my favorites for summer!
