The hiatus is finally over!! I actually screamed when I read the email announcing the Spring Tour. And I wasn’t the only one – the Widespread Panic’s website crashed today because of the influx in traffic! Panic will be traveling from April to May through the midwest and southeast. I plan to be in attendance in Atlanta and maybe catch the show in Chicago. I can only hope (and pray) this short tour means a nice long summer tour and a triumphant return to Red Rocks this summer! Tickets go on sale at various this month so grab them while you can!
Now that Christmas is over and we are really in winter its time for spring collections! Confusing I know. This months J.Crew Catalog does a good job of introducing spring while stile realizing we are in middle of WINTER. Here are some of my favorite pieces…
J.Crew Ray-Ban Clubmaster Sunglasses
Circle Print Chambray Popover
Gold Knot Braclelet
Downtown Field Jacket
Wool Crepe V-Neck Dress
Etta Cap Toe Patent Pumps
Scalloped Top and Bottom Biennial Satchel
Leather Passport Case
I first discovered Geogrpaher when the songs “Kites” came on my iphone’s shuffle. I had never heard it before am still not sure where I downloaded it from. The song is incredibly catchy and you immediately want to hear more. The intro grabs you and the beat just kind of makes you sway in your seat, there is also a bit of bass and violin, but the song reaches it hight with Brian Osterichers amazing voice. A lot going on with this track, but very well composed. Every time I play this song someone ask, “Who the hell is this?” Seriously, every time. With 2 albums out now, Animal Shapes and Myth, I think Geographer is about to make it big.

If you are headed to Madison Square Gardens for Phish this year get ready for a show! We lucked out in the lottery last year and scored New Years Eve tickets. I had seen a show in the Garden before but nothing like this. When Phish says the show is sold out, they every seat in the building! They sell all the ticket from top to bottom, and all the way around the stage. Our tickets were directly stage left behind Phishmen, which gave us a unique view of the stage and the entire arena.
Every year Phish does a New Years Gag. Last year a people came flying out of the floor and danced to “Down with Disease” as the confetti and balloons fell (see video bellow)
Steam>Auld Lang Syne>Down With Disease (skip to 14:20ish to see people fly)
Its anyone guess what this years gag will be but I am hoping it involves Justin Bieber to continue the Bromance!
If your not making it to MSG you can always catch the show on Live Webcast.
What are you new years plans?
New Years is just around the corner! Last year we had an amazing 4 days in New York, where we spent New Years Eve with best friends at Phish. I wish I could be joining them again this year. However, I am looking forward to a low key night in the mountains. And don’t think just because I am in the mountains doesn’t mean I won’t be wearing sparkles!
