Valentines Day is just around the corner. I am definitely more excited this year aka I have a boyfriend! Hehe! I have rounded up some great gift ideas for your significant other or yourself.

Winter is in FULL swing here in Colorado, but skiing makes enduring the cold totally worth it. Last weekend I had some best friends from college in town and we rented a place in Breckenridge. We had the best time and some of the best ski days of the year. We discovered some GREAT trees on Peak 9 that I can’t wait to get back too! And now that I have my GoPro SD card back I am going to be taking lots of footage this weekend!
Get Fit – This month I have been talking a lot about fitness. I did two posts on my new workout best friend, ClassPass. If you love yoga, pilates, HITT, boxing or barre classes then you gotta check out ClassPass. Right now you can join for $19 for your first month! Learn more about ClassPass here and my favorite classes in Denver here.
Prime Photos – I have been an Amazon Prime member for years. I love the fast shipping and great video selection but just recently decided to back up my photos library. All photo backups are free and you are limited to 5 gs of video. So I did upgrade but the process was so easy, seamless and FAST. I now have all 74g of photo and 48 g of videos backed up to the cloud!

Updated December 2018
Three years later I have completed 178 Classpass classes! My list has totally changed so I wanted to update this post with my current favorite studios around town. I am always open to trying a new class so comment, dm or tweet me your favorite classes!
Note that I work downtown and live around DU so I really pick based on that. On the weekends I try to hit a new studio across town but my regular circuit is the studios closest to me.
PS. Right now you can sign up and get 1 month FREE just use this link!
1. Transform Colorado
– LaGree, is kind of like pilates but way harder. One of my favorite workouts, I go almost every Tuesdays @ Noon with G (She is the best!!)
2. Rebel Workout
– I love their combo bike & bare classes. I love their spin classes because its a super small studio with great big skylights bringing in all the natural light and funky lights when its dark.
3. Endorphin (Broadway)
– Indoor Cycling + Barre. I usually do the Monday night spin class and then pop in the upstairs studio for barre or yoga.
4. Hot Mamas
– Any Class – I really loved every class I took here but hate that they moved out of wash park and up to Colfax – but will def do a few classes here on the weekends!
5. Pearl Street Fitness
– HIT Class – Yall I was soooo scared to do a HIT Class but I really loved it and loved Pearl Street. I was sooo nervous but every class is super welcoming – everyone introduces themselves and then we all hi-five at the end! haha
There really are not that many downtown studios which I find pretty odd. Most are further into Lohi (near Denver Beer Co) or Ballpark which are not walking distance for me.
Transform is my go-to studio downtown. I also like Club Form Fitness’s Wednesday Barre From Class. It’s a heavy dance/cardio class that really burns. If I can’t find a class I will just do “Gym Time” at The Oxford Club near Union Station. It’s small but always empty, great if you just want to lift or do a quick run or bike.
When I joined ClassPass this past August, I challenged myself to try as many class as possible near my house and office to see if it was really something I liked. Well, I loved it! Read more about why I switched here…
1. Fierce 45 – Full Body Workout
Update: Fierce45 I like you but you make it impossible to get a class on Classpass, I haven’t been able to get in, in over a year – boo
Hot damn this class is good. And by good I mean, you leave feeling like you just got your ass kicked but your endorphins are so high you can take on the world, just like Elle Woods. Fierce45 is a “Lagree Fitness” studio. This low impact but the high-intensity workout is performed on the Megaformer, a Pilates-like apparatus. If you love Pilates then you will love/hate the Megaformer and even if you have never tried Pilates I highly suggest you try it. Each class is 45 mins of slow, slow slowwww burn. I always leave feeling amazing and am so sore the next day, in the best way possible. Learn more about Fierce45 here.
2. Fluid Fusion – Slim Barre
Update: I have actually stopped going to this studio, I liked it at first but then meh and workouts during work hours are harder to commit to.
I took a Bar re class a few years ago and almost collapsed during the “Shake it girls” part. I knew it was a challenging and rewarding workout but hadn’t found a studio I loved. Fluid Fusion is located right off the 16th Street Mall and offers a variety of small group Pilates and Barre classes. They literally offer a class every hour. I love the Slim Barre class because of the mix of barre exercises and traditional ballet work. When I can get in touch with my 5th position tutu self, I feel like I enjoy the class way more and am not constantly checking the clock to see how much longer I have. I have also tried their reformer classes and aerial yoga! Learn more about Fluid Fusion here
3. Torch Pilates – Pilates Mat
This is by far the hardest group exercise class I have ever done. The class starts with three series of cardio-esk moves, I rarely make it to the third rep without a water break. You know when your watching tennis and they are all grunting or in yoga they are saying to breathe out loud and grunt it out and your like ehh? Well, in this class it happened naturally. Everyone is grunting and sweating bullets. After your cardio circuits its hardcore abs or legs then back to cardio then abs or legs and then don’t forget your 1000 variations of push-ups too. THIS CLASS WILL KICK YOU ASS I have never in my life been to a class with so many woman grunting of pure exhaustion and it’s was pretty awesome. Learn more about Torch Pilates here .
4. Tru Fit – Hips and Hamstrings
Update: Sadly this class was canceled 🙁 I would love to find something like it!
If you read my previous post on quoting my film you know have plantar fasciitis and am basically tight all over 24 hours a day. This class is all about stretching your hips and hamstrings. I have loved every class and learning new ways to relax or revive my tired hips, hamstrings, quads, shins, and feet. TrueFit has lots of locations across Denver but this class is offered in the Downtown/Ritz Carlton location. Learn more about TruFit here.
5. Hot Mamas – Werk Me At The Bar
It’s like I have a knack for signing up for classes that kick my ass, which is kind of the point right!? I chose Werk It At The Bar as my first class and I worked it so hard I had to sit down. 1. bring a water you will be thirsty. 2. Laugh its totally okay when everyone is dong leg kicks and arm weights that you can’t keep up… right everyone can’t keep up right? They have a few studio around the city but I go to the Wash Park location off Logan. Learn more about Hot Mamas here.
What are your favorite ClassPass classes? Always down to try a new one!

Living in Colorado, you are constantly being active without even trying. All of the outdoor activities got me moving and grooving, but my super active lifestyle was being to hurt, like really hurt. I couldn’t (and still can’t) stand for more than a few minutes at a time. My feet were constantly hurting which caused my legs to hurt too.
Dancing all night at shows lead to painful mornings. I finally went to see a Podiatrist long story and two doctors later. I have plantar fasciitis, an issue that is typically reserved for the old and over weight. After the two docs and two physical therapist the same issue rang true… I was not strong enough to support my body. A.K.A. I have no muscle in my body and the weight of it all is collapsing on my feet causing my body tremendous pain.
So what was I going to do to fix it – workout and stretch, a lot.
I haven’t and still don’t have the motivation to do a GREAT workout on my own, so I know I needed a coach or class like format to get in shape. I joined the local gym near my office and started going during my lunch breaks. I went to Pilates once a week and would maybe bike or do weights another day. Even with the pain I couldn’t motivate myself. Paying $100 a month for four class a month was NOT worth it.
So I decided to try ClassPass. I did a two week trial for $19 in last August. I committed myself to try as many class as possible in two weeks, to see if I had viable options I liked near my office and home. Not only where the classes convenient, but I loved them and I loved the way it made me feel!
A firm believer in the “endorphins make you happy” the trick was getting my ass to the gym to get the endorphins going and these ClassPass classes were the only thing that got me going. So after my two weeks I head back to the gym and happily canceled my membership. Class(pass) life is the life for me!
And the best part, when their isn’t a class I want to take, I can do “Gym Time”. With “Gym Time” you get full access to a gym’s facilities to run, bike, stair master and lift weights.
I am not five months in to being a ClassPass Member and I couldn’t be happier! I highly recommend trying ClassPass in your city. Oh, did I mentioned when you travel you can take a class wherever you are?! So awesome!
ClassPass is constantly running great new member demo prices like my $19 for two weeks. So you really have nothing to lose! Except weight! Yahoooooo!
On top of all this the app is SO well done – super easy to use, great calendar integration and never gives me issues.

Ski Bunny Chic
Sexy ski pants, killer turns and an all natural look. Well we all know that “Im not wearing any makeup” look involves makeup, so here are my tips and tricks for looking from the chairlift to acres ski.
The number one thing your must where on the mountains – SUNSCREEN. Sunscreen is a must. When you’re in the mountains not only are you closer to the sun but the and the sun reflects off the snow on to your face. My daily moisture CeraVe AM Cream, contains SPF 15 but I typically apply more when I get out of the car and carry a stick with me in my jacket. You will want to really at lunch and as you sip champagne at the end of the day.
It’s winter, you’re 99% most likely ghostly pale right now. I get super pale so I use these Alpha Beta Glow Pads weekly to give my face a nice glow. I have tried numerous face self tanners and these are my favorite. I typically apply Thursday or Friday for a bronzed look that takes me into the weekend. for the weekend.
I am prone to breaking out along my google line and my face gaud is usually up most of the day. So I try to stay away from heavy foundation. A great day to pull out your BB Cream! My routine calls for under eye consider and a tented moisturizer with SPF.
No need for blush, you are going to get that perfectly windblown look from the slopes
The key to all day eyes is WATERPROOF, the only thing worse than a ski racoon tan is raccoon eyes to match. Go for a subtle liner and reapply in the bathroom later.
I started using Maybelline Eyebrow Crayons almost a year ago and am obsessed. Waterproof mascara, eyeliner and a little eye shadow – A little shimmer to wake up tiered eyes
My lips have a natural just chugged a blue Gatorade color, so I live for lips stains and tents. I apply in the morning and before drinks. I always keep a chapstick with SPF in my jacket pocket to protect them from the wind and sun as well.
I would love to figure out how to french braid my hair. I opt for a low pony and da poorly done braid or pigtail braids. I have been working on a headband braid while stuck in ski traffic but no success yet. I do see some girls who wear they’re hair down but mine turn into a giant knot.
Since you will be heading straight from the slopes to acres ski you will need to pack your touch up essentials with you? But since your skiing you really only have what you can fit in your pockets.
Yep Samples, time to put those 100s sample packets to good use! I throw a few in a few samples and touch up in the bathroom.
