The year-end sale to end all sales is happening now till January 3rd! Here are some of my favorite pieces on sale…
Archives for December 2015
I can’t believe Christmas has come and gone! Our Christmas was very low-key and HOT. It has been 70’s in Atlanta all week. So strange. If Santa didn’t bring you everything on your list, you can shop these sales to get everything else on your list, and probably for cheaper too!
P.S. This pic is from before Christmas when Denver got 8 inches of snow! If you’re headed west soon check out my post on what to pack for the perfect ski trip!
Water Chic: Last year I started seeing the S’Well waterbottles pop up in boutiques and now they are all the rage. Read the story of how one woman’s quest for chic water bottles started it all.
Tech in 2016: Ben Thompson, from Stratechery dicusses the state of tech and Slack’s impact on tech in 2016. If your company isn’t using Slack to communicate, then you are missing out. Get slack for your team and revolutionize the way you work.
Google Time: Get a glimpse inside google to see how they do time managment, this is a great piece with good take away tidbits.
Year in Music: Every December Spotify puts together your year in music. Not surprisingly, my year was dominated by Phish and Kygo. Besides a look back on what you listen to its a great recap of the music and events that shaped the year.
The Clymb: 60-90% off all outdoor gear in this end of the year blow out
Revolve: Holiday sales has lots of great pieces for up to 80% off

A few years back I did a post on what to pack for a ski trip… what to wear on the slopes, apres ski and at home by the fire. What about a night out on the town? Every ski town has boom-boom room and/or a honky tonk where you can dance the night away. What to wear is tricky because it’s hot-hot-hot inside the bar and literally freezing outside. The key? Bulk-free (packable) layers.
My go-to outfit: black pants, black flat boots, tank top, sweater, puffer coat, gloves, scarf and beanie! That is a mouthful and quite a bit to carry around too. Cross body bags are a must! Everywhere you go will have a coat check or at least, hooks to hang up your coat. Stuff you scarf into a sleeve and zip up your beanie and gloves in the pocket. Don’t want the sweater – stuff that into the other sleeve. When you go to leave all of your stuff is in one place!
You might think I’m crazy for wearing a tank top out, but I get super hot when I am out dancing in jeans and boots, so sleveless is a must. I might be sweating it out in da club but I am certainly cold at dinner. A cashmere sweater keeps me cozy and stylish while out but doesn’t get all bunchy with my coat on.
For shoes the most important thing is traction, you do not want to be slip sliding around especially while inebriated. Water resistant or waterproof is always preferable, which doesn’t mean you have to wear snow shoes. UGG, Timberland, North Face and even designer brands like Michael Kors and make very stylish winter weather boots.

Jetsetting somewhere warm this holiday? Jelly. Resort wear 2016 is already out and I’m loving pieces from Mara Hoffman and Loft. Resort wear styles historically reserved for the true jettseters (like people with their own jet) is now a part of every major brands collection. Here are some of my favorites and do not forget sunscreen! Your skin has not seen the light of day in months!

After booking my flights home to Atlanta for Christmas, I realized that by staying in town after Christmas I could see two of my favorite bands. Luckily, I was in the 24 hour time period to cancel with no penalty woot woot! So now my two nights in Vegas for New Years with Pretty Lights, will start with Widespread Panic at the Fabulous Fox and STS9 at The Tabernacle. Four shows in a row in two different time zones, true Channing style!
For New Years I’ll be wearing this colorful WYLDR Pixie Slip Dress. If I was a high roller I would 100% be rocking this amazing Parker Donny Jumpsuit. I love the look of long necklaces and long feather earrings but honestly they just hit me in the face during shows. These flashy (but short) earrings and cuff are much more practicle for New Years dancing. Black pumps? Pleasseee, I’ll be rocking these Nike Kicks.
MaryKate & Ashley Watch: MK got married over Thanksgiving weekend! What I wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall of that NYC townhome, except with a gas mask for all the cig smoke. No joke, bowls full of cigs, read about it here.
Next Level Walkie Talkies: I hope this project gets the proper backing cause it would be a total game changer, wearable walkie talkies for outdoor adventures. The Bonx uses Bluetooth to connect with other users and features voice activation.
Next Tuesday is Colorado Gives Day!! This annual day of giving helps support over 1,800 non-profits across the state. Last year 43,979 people came together on this one day to raise/donate $26,279,491!! No matter how small your contribution is, every penny counts. This year I am donating to the Colorado Alzheimer’s Association and the Junior League of Denver. Some of my other favorite Colorado organizations you can give to are First Descents, Food Bank of the Rockies and Clayton Early Learning.

As a Philosophy major at SMU you’re required to take Intro to Logic. I was so excited, till I opened my book to find a whole lot of P’s, Q’s and symbols I had never seen before. Turns out I’m a wiz at propositional logic. As a product manager, I spend a lot of time working with developers and a common theme in coding is always if P then Q. What does this have to do with my new favorite App IFTTT? Everything. In plain English “If P then Q”= “If This Then That.” Most of the apps on your phone operate on this simple logic. IFTTT takes simple formula, or as they call it a Recipe and applies it across apps. It’s pretty phenomenal. These if this than that Recipies allow the action of one app to automatically cause the action of another. Here are some of my favorite Recipes…
The best part IFTTT integrates with over 250 applications so you can create a recipe for just about anything. Oh and it’s pronounced gift without the G, never would have figured that one out on my own.
