I realize the first Friday of May was last week, but I was in NYC (more pictures to come). So this Friday you get your round-up. Four years ago last week I left DC and headed west. Trust me when I say I have never looked back. The image above is from a camping trip to the Great National Sand Dunes Park in April, this place is totally wild – more pictures to come.
Uber in China – I heard this piece on NPR Monday and found it fascinating. The cultural difference between America and china are astounding, not just the normal things you think of but how we feel about strangers and on some level empathy. Listen to why the Uber drivers of Shanghai love their jobs.
What’s hot in tech? – Product Hunt is the best place to find a product or app to do whatever you are looking for. I know that is not that is not very descriptive, but this site is the go-to find what is hot in the tech world. Read about this simple list rise to the top here. I subscribe to a lot of e-mails but this is the one that I make sure to read every day.
Goodbye Atlanta Airport Mural – While in NYC my friend told me the devastating news that the ridiculous yet incredible mural of Centennial Olympic Park that greets you at baggage claim has been replaced with a Porsche ad. Tragic I know. I hope they find somewhere good to place the mural so we may never forget the little baby squatting of the awkward couple hugging.
Party On – Now I can’t say I have tried this or that I ever will but Party With a Local is a pretty great app idea. The app simply connects travelers with locals who wanna have a good time, pretty genius.
