Headed to Denver and not sure what to do during the day?
Want to get a work out in? Head to Red Rocks to hike the trails and explore the magical venue. Be sure and check out the museum bellow the venue, too. Just up the road from Red Rocks it the beautiful Lair o The Bear, great for hiking, biking or horseback riding. There are also lot’s of great hikes outside of Boulder like, Blue Lake. Looking to take a dip? Try the Boulder Creek or Chatfield State Park in Littleton (just south of downtown Denver)
Feeling lazy? Grab brunch! Downtown/Lodo – Squeaky Bean or Snooze (be ready to endure the wait), Wash Park/Platt Park – Devil’s Food, Session Kitchen or Jelly. Cheeseman/Uptown/ – Denver Biscuit Company or Shells & Sauce. Let the laziness continue at Wash Park – lay out, play frisbee or join one of the 50 volleyball games. Remember you can drink in the park but only 3.2 Beer!
Drink, Drink, Drink – Denver is know for their craft beers so enjoy some at these great bars (most with great patios too) – Denver Beer Co, World of Beer, Denver Pearl Brewing, Vine Street Pub (cash only or IOU), Sanchos (The Grateful Dead Bar) and Ale House at Amato’s.
Phashionista? On Sunday, walk the South Pearl Famers Market, enjoy free samples and shop in great boutiques and hip consignment stores. Enjoy a craft beer and delicious artisan pizza on the patio at Kaos Pizza.
Summer Tur 2018 is in full swing. Currently listening to Friday night LA heater! So for all my southern belles going to the Phish shows in ATL this weekend you need to remember two things. You are going to a Phish show to DANCE (not talk). ATL is so freaking HOT! So dress accordingly you will be dripping in sweat, you will need to take a shower after the show. Okay? Now go enjoy! Wish I could be there!
This summer I will be at Curveball and Dicks! So look out for me and my Ocelots!
What to Wear to a Phish show or any concert for that matter! My number one rule is to be comfortable so I typically opt for long dresses and comfortable shoes. However, this summer has been so hot I have been wearing shorts and tanks to most shows. I also rock my “show shoes” sweet tennis shoes I made on NikeID. If you’re going to be dancing (and you will) wear your most comfortable shoes preferably something with a back strap. I stay away from jeans because I get too hot, but if the temperature is going to drop, pack some leggings to throw on under your skirt or dress. I always pack a sling bag with the essentials – ticket, chap-stick, sunscreen, bobby pins, a long sleeve shirt or sweater and of course my camera! If you have any questions leave a comment – I am happy to help!

In between back to back wedding weekends in Atlanta I have set up shop at our family home on Lake Burton. In between conference calls and emails I am trying to get as much sun as possible! On Monday, my mom and I ventured into Clayton to try her favorite new spot in town, The Laurel Bar at The White Burch Inn. Since it was a Monday we practically had the place to ourselves. Inn owners Chuck & Brenda Patterson, architect and interior designer duo, outdid themselves with the design and decor of the Inn. Bought in 2012, the pair transformed this 100-year-old building into a 6 bedroom Inn, complete with workout room and communal sitting area. Each room is unique in design and color scheme with beautiful pieces from local artist. I love all the woodwork and details in the bathrooms.
After our tour of the Inn, we sipped wine at the bar with hilarious bartender Ginger and enjoyed dinner on the patio. Our meal was delicious! We both started with the refreshing and light Peach Salad. Followed by Smoked Trout Cakes, Pan Seared Sea Scallops and Shrimp & Grits. For dessert homemade Salted Caramel Coffee ice cream. My favorite was the Smoked Trout Cakes with Beet Risotto. Chef Ben Findley is a Clayton native, whose talent was nurtured at local favorite Lake Rabun Hotel. Be sure to stop in The Laurel Bar on your next trip to North Georgia!
I never ever ever want summer to end in Colorado, but I maybe, kinda am looking forward to flannel & booties. Sole Society has been my go to for on trend shoes at low low prices and now they have expanded into accessories and bags. Here are some of my favorites from their Fall Collection.
