Remember when you had your Nokia candy bar phone and the biggest thing in the world was not going over your text limits. Then it was all about Roll Over minutes but like you were texting so you didn’t care, but your parents did. Then you grew up and got booted off the family plan because you live in a different state and the other major carrier had better service there. No? Only just me? Well since the dawn of the smartphone it’s never been about the text or the minutes… it’s all about the data. “Cause you know I’m all about that data that data no minutes!”
So you would think that with all the fancy apps we have to control basically everything in our lives we would have the freedom to control our data. Guess what? Now we do.
Verizon’s new app, My Verizon, puts you in charge of your data, anytime, anywhere. Simply download the app to get started. Use the Data Hub to view how much data you have used for the month. Already used all your data for the month? Switch on Safety Mode for your data speed to be lowered and you won’t be charged for going over. Need more data! Bump it up with Data Boost! Return to normal 4GLT speeds and only pay 15$ per extra gig. Oh and if you only use some of your data it rolls over – hello Carryover Data!
Rather than getting that annoying text at the end of the month saying your gigabytes away from going over your allocated data for the month, check in on your usage whenever you want and adjust accordingly. With the new plan rates are in easy sizes S, M, L, XL, and XXL. Each plan is slightly more than it’s a current rate but for 30% more data.
Small: Now $35/month for 2 GB (was $30/month for 1GB)
Medium: Now $50/month for 4 GB (was $45/month for 3GB)
Large: Now $70/month for 8 GB (was $60/month for 6GB)
X-Large: Now $90/month for 16 GB (was $80/month for 12GB)
XX-Large: Now $110/month for 24 GB (was $100/month for 18GB)
Seriously, it’s 2016! I don’t know why this app has taken so long but I am glad its here! To learn more about the My Verizon app and the breakdown of data rates, and how to switch over check out Verizon.com
