Steamboat you are drop dead gorgeous. A little off the beaten path but well worth the drive. Plus it is a beautiful drive! The Rocky Mountain Super Pass gives your few days to ski at Steamboat, so I jumped at the chance when a friend began to plan a trip.
We stayed at the Meadows at Eagle Ridge Condos, a Whyndam Vacation Rental, which was super close to the mountain and offered a free shuttle between the mountain, condo and town. Really the shuttle service was amazing, just call a number and they are there to pick you up!
Saturday we hit the slopes early. As I got off the Storm Peak Express and turned the corner to head down Buddy’s Run I literally stopped in my tracks because of the gorgeous view. Since we arrived late Friday I had not seen what Steamboat looked like. It was a beautiful warm day, almost like a spring skiing day and we took full advantage of it.
Our crew snagged a picnic table in front of Four Points Lodge for lunch. On mountain meals are alway expensive and typically disappointing but the food at Four Points was on point (puns!). I highly recommend the Turkey Pot Pie and Portobello Caprese Sandwich with Quinoa and Kale Salad. The pot pie is amazing and big enough to split.
After lunch, some girls and I headed over to the Sunshine lift area and lapped some great blue “roller” runs. I loved all the runs and we did at Steamboat and would love to go back and ski again later this season.
Saturday night we went in town for dinner at The Old Taven which was great for our large group. After a few drinks at The Tap Room, we decided to have a dance party at the condo and called the free shuttle to take us home. Within 10 mins the shuttle was there to take us home, and to the liquor store! We stayed up late dancing to my Oldies Dance Party Mix.
On Sunday we only had time for a few hours of skiing before heading back to Denver. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to explore the town as much as I liked but our stay at the Wyndham Meadows Condos was fabulous and I hope to return before the season ends.
If you’re planning a trip I highly suggest renting your ski and equipment from Christy Sports right on the mountain!
PS. Thanks Harper, Lolo and Hailey for the pictures!
