It has never been that interesting to learn what songs were popular the year I was born. Why? Cause I was just born! I wasn’t jamming Madaona or Belinda Carlisle “Heaven is A Place On Earth” (fitting for my Pi Phi years) and neither were Sonny and Christy. But what is cool, is having a playlist for every year of lower, middle and upper school! Also known as elementary, middle and high school. Where can one find such a playlist? RetroJam – just add your birthday and RetroJam creates a playlist of the top hits from every year. I was special and held back in pre-first so my high school graduation year on Retrojam is 2007 rather than 2006, so I adjusted my birth year to get it right. Wasn’t into Britney in 6th grade like the rest of the world, filter out the Pop Genre.
While I still lug around every CD I have ever owned it’s neat to see what school year it corresponded to. No Doubt’s “Tragic Kingdom” was my first grade jam! That is advanced listening right there…
