Since the dawn of time (AKA, when I discovered Pinterest last October) my life has changed for the better.
Everyday I spent hours pining, creating boards and exploring new things – melting crayons for art, chocolate chip reindeer cookies, sparkly skirts and tops! I found new favorite websites and blogs. Felt inspired enough to learn how to cook and even do arts and crafts.
But there was something even more exciting… shopping. Everyday I was finding new stores, designers, blogs and boutiques! My bank account couldn’t keep up. But alas, there was a glitch in my happiness. A glitch so grand that it infuriated me every time it happened. Someone out there had pinned a beautiful ______ with no link!!! Everyday I found new pins with “bad” links, that would lead me to a Google search image, or a 16-year-olds Tumblr with thousands of photos and no way of knowing where the original picture came from! How was I to find that skirt, scarf and perfect turquoise earrings??
Luckily my prayers have been answered by Start The Hunt. A sort of Yahoo answers for your shopping needs! Can’t find that peplum shirt, post a photo and another “hunter” will post where to find it. Dreaming of a new designer bag, but you can’t afford the real thing? However, you are willing to settle for something similar. Create a Hunt posting a photo of the bag, type a description and ideal max price and it will be found!
What if you have already found the perfect skirt and are just missing a top? Use the “what goes with this” description to get recommendations from other Hunters. Know the original ‘look’ is expensive, so you are on the hunt for a cheaper alternative? Use the description “this look for less”. No matter what you are looking for someone will find the exact match or something similar.
Helping others find their items is fun too! Almost like charity for other distraught pinners. But you know whats even more exiting! For every found item… it’s a new place to shop! Scroll through the popular hunts on the “Showcase” tab to see what everyone is looking for and where they found it.
The Hunt is GENIUS. I have had multiple items found and have helped others find their missing items too. Not only can you post photos from the internet but you can also snap a picture of something you like on the street, post to Instagram and voilà! Someone has found that exact dress!
I know you have something you’re looking for so sign up and let the hunt begin!
